Less scale, faster hot water.

Electronic water descalers, aerators and hot water packages for Northern Virginia homes.

Scale on a shower head

Hard water leaves minerals behind everywhere it goes. You see it as crust on a shower head, yellow stains around faucets and toilets, and spots on glass. You don't see the scale building up inside your water heater, where it eats the elements in an electric tank and blocks heat in a gas one, so the tank holds less hot water every year.

An electronic water descaler treats the water as it comes into the house, so less scale sticks to pipes, fixtures and appliances. We pair it with new faucet aerators and a hot water recirculating pump so the water at the tap is better and arrives faster.

What the job includes

  • Electronic water descaler installation
  • Faucet aerator replacement
  • Watts hot water recirculating pumps
  • Expansion tanks and mixing valves
  • Water heater flood stops
  • Water quality maintenance

Signs it's time to call

  • White or yellow crust on faucets, shower heads and toilets
  • Low water pressure at the shower
  • Dry skin or hair after bathing
  • A water heater that rumbles or runs out quickly
  • A long wait for hot water

What it costs

We publish three packages. Essential is $1,486 and works with your existing water heater: a descaler, new aerators and a recirculating pump. Plus is $1,739 with a new water heater and an expansion tank. Premium is $2,204 and adds a mixing valve, a free flood stop and a year of free maintenance. The water heater itself is priced separately.

No. A softener uses salt to swap minerals out of the water. An electronic descaler doesn't use salt; it changes how the minerals behave so less of them stick inside your plumbing and appliances.
